Today Viber is Totally Blocked in Pakistan

Another day, an additional service prohibited in the country. This time around it is Viber.

We have been widely obtaining reports that Viber calls aren't getting through, even so, Viber text messages are working good, we now have checked.

According to reports that we are getting, Viber cell phone calls are not connecting upon various ISPs within nearly all major cities, which means, this is not ISP specific ban, instead its a country broad ban.

The assumption is that service have been blacklisted as a result of recent suggestion by Sindh government to prohibit Skype, Viber, WhatsApp along with other IM solutions due to protection situation in Karachi.

Even so, we suspect that it Viber prohibit has to take action with the Voice over internet protocol calling service, which was harming the profits of telecom providers. Simply to mention, VoIP calling providers are not 100 % legal in Pakistan, until you are call center or for those who have special documentation from PTA.

It maybe remembered that Skype (PC to Phone) calling has already been blocked on different ISPs in Pakistan.

We now have confirmation through PTA because of not issuing any kind of directive concerning the blockade of Viber.

Through a tweet, Viber offers hinted that this company suspects inaccessibility of its services in Pakistan
